The cure for alcohol addiction

There are several ways to deal with alcoholism, depending on the level of addiction, and the patient’s wishes. Patients can choose to stop completely, or just reduce alcohol consumption. Aside from that, check out and find a good place to cure your alcohol addiction.

Patients will also be given advice on what can be done during the process, for example by recording alcohol consumption for 1 week or changing alcohol consumption with soft drinks. Detoxification. In cases of severe addiction, patients are generally hospitalized. This is because usually withdrawal symptoms that appear are also severe and require medical treatment. Severe symptoms will last in 48 hours but will improve as alcohol is wasted from the body. The whole process generally lasts 3 to 7 days since the last patient consumed alcohol. Patients will also experience sleep disorders for one month. During the detoxification process, make sure to drink at least 3 liters of water a day and avoid consuming caffeinated drinks such as coffee or tea so that the sleep disturbances don’t get worse.

Drug therapy. If needed, the doctor will prescribe drugs such as naltrexone, acamprosate, or disulfiram to help with the recovery process of alcoholism. However, this drug is not yet available in some countries.

Recovery at home. Try to focus on leaving old habits and start living a healthy lifestyle. Begin to sleep early and exercise regularly. Leave old activities related to alcohol and replace with new activities far from alcohol. Explain to family and friends about the decision to abandon the habit of drinking alcohol, and ask for their support during recovery.
