Head pressure and blurry vision

I have had high anxiety for the last few months. I have expirenced this before and was on klonopin for 8 years. I stopped taking the klonopin this past Oct. And just recently started back on medicine last week. Last Saturday I took a half of a 25 mg. xanax ( never had it before) then on Tuesday morning I started taking 0.5mg of citalopram (celexa). Yesterday the dr told me to stop taking the celexa and continue with the xanax. Which I can take up to 4 times a day. I tried citalopram 50 mg back in 2010-2011 but was taken off of it because of increased anxiety and also sucidal thoughts. We decid

Constant pressure in Head, Vision Problems, Leg Wobbliness

Have you seen a doctor? Do you have any fluid coming out of your nose that is clear? Trauma to the head can cause damage later - say to the pituitary or even to the CSF (cerebral spinal fluid) and you may have even a leak, that causes bad headaches. See a doc. Soon.

possible chiari?

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum. Getting test results from Drs for Chiari can be tricky....many see Chiari as an incidental finding and may say it was "normal" when in fact u have Chiari, so to make sure always request copies of ur MRI's , blood labs etc along with reports.... There are several conditions that can cause the symptoms u mentioned....and the more u stress over it the worse u will feel so until u know try to relax. Get the copies of ur MRI and report and get a 2nd opinion or 3rd.... May I ask y u were on the meds and y u got off them?>

possible aneurysm? ??

Unlikely an aneurysm because the symptoms don't fit.  It does indicate withdrawl from the clonazepam depending on the dosage you were at.  Immediate withdrawl from clonazepam is known to cause symptoms even after being on the drug for a short time (like less then two weeks).  I'm surprised your Doctors didn't pick up on this and did not recommend a longer weening down of that drug over a longer period of time.  For example if you were at 1mg, tapering to .5 mg for a few weeks, then .25 mg for a few weeks and then trying no doses at all.   Maybe someone can comment of the nortriptyline but based on a short dose trial in someone I know, it really did the opposite of what it was designed to do.  Anxiety is apparently the greater issue for you to have treated.  Don't be concerned about the aneurysm unless you have risk factors for it.   You don't state why you needed the two drugs in the first place and that might help put the issues in perspective.

undiagnosed symptoms...neck

It's really hard like this to say anything specifically. It's unlikely that any of the serious disorders you mention are causing your symptoms. While clonazepam throws off the balance few things in you body, nortriptyline blocks a whole array of processes, forcing the body to find alternate methods of achieving what it needs. This adaptation is what many people will feel as a relief from the symptoms they took the drugs for in the first place. Once you cut them off, body will again try to revert to things as they once were, and you could feel this reversal in different ways. That can last for days, weeks, months, maybe years... Hope I've made some sense, and sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I was put on Verapamil a few years ago for Migraines as well and like you was scared as my bp runs on the low side. I montiyored it and never had any changes. That is just my experience with it. I would say if you are that nervous maybe u should call the NL and see what they say. There may be something else that you would feel more comfortable taking. Good luck

head pressure, neck pain, faintness, blurry vision, what is this??

"Everyday feels like it's my last" is one of the most common emotional symptom of anxiety. Being new to this anxiety, I definitely tell you (also anyone who suffer anxiety) to NOT search your symptoms in the internet, it can lead to its own anxiety, it will just feed yours and you will probably find the worst case scenario on the net. If your tests came back normal, then anxiety can be the sole cause, you might have been experienced a panic attack. I can't give you much more of advice cause I'm not a doctor nor a therapist, but what can I say is you're not alone. Try going on another doctor for a second opinion or talking to a psychologist. Btw, I'm an asian to, i'm from the Philippines and I'm 18

pressure

yes there are pressure points...and they're easy enough to find on your own. the ones that work best for me are above my left ear, in between my eyes...above my left eye in the middle of my eyebrow...and on the left bottom side of the base of my skull. i found them simply by trial and error and you can do the same...it may be that different ones work better for you. and yes...pressure in the head is often associated with anxiety...and it's an extremely annoying symptom at that
