Toilet mishap

Hi there I am little nervous.  My 6 year old daughter had to pee real bad while swimming so I tool her to the bathroom.  I wiped the toilet seat down a laid some toilet paper on the toilet for her to sit on.  When I went to put her on the toilet she started to pee a little too early and some of it got onto the tissue paper and on her.  When she finished she put her swimsuit (wihout wiping) back on and went into the pool a few mins later.  If some how some of her pee touched the seat and then onto her underwear part of her swimwear, could she g

9 Year Old Boy Won't Use Toilet

I'm not familiar with this being an aspergers trait. But then again I don’t fully understand aspergers either… It seems to me something more in the autism end of the spectrum, but then again I was classified PDD NOS (which has developmental delay). What I have is like aspergers in a lot of ways, but aspergers lacks the delay in speech and other things. How long does it take for him to use the bathroom?  Does he view the process of going to the bathroom a big hassle and a disruption?  This is something I'd like to know for my own curiosity. I'm trying to see if what you describe is a variant of what I go through when I am busy with something... I put off eating, sleeping, and using the bathroom until I REALLY need to go, then I'm practically running to the bathroom. I remember several times as a kid I'd barely have time to sit down on the pot before I started peeing. Sitting down to do #2 was especially boring...  I found myself often thinking ahead to what other things I could be doing rather than sitting down waiting for the **** to When I was outside and away from the house, I didn't want to come in to use the I'd find a place that seemed relatively private and like an animal, just got it done...  Thankfully I've grown quite a lot from those days. I make sure to relieve myself in the proper place, but I still feel it is a disruption and my mind wanders in 1000's of directions while I'm sitting atop my throne.

my six year old son is out of control

Perhaps instead of punishment like spanking it may be a good idea to find out why he is doing this , he sounds upset by something, what are the dynamics in the house, is he an only child, you say he beats up your friends son , are you sure its only him does the son do anything to him prior? It sounds as if you get on his case a lot , it may be a good idea not to keep asking him if he has been to the bathroom, it could be creating anxiety about going .and is feeding on itself .I see you are Dad, do you play games and sports with him is there positive feedback from you ?Does he have this problem whilst at school or only at home ?

toilet training problems

I have a 4 year old with autism.  She is afraid of having a bm, too.  Try posting a large, poster size "dookie chart" in the bathroom.  The chart should be categorized by month and day.  Put a smiley face on the chart on the date she goes and give her a sticker to put on it, too.  This serves two purposes.  It keeps up with bms and it allows the nonverbal autistic child to "see" her efforts.  Also, this sounds groce, but, tell her how proud you are when she does go to the commode, and take a photo of her next to the bm.  GIve her the picture so that she can be proud and she can remember.  No matter what, it will be a challenge.  But, those suggestions have helped us.  We do this along with Milk of Magnesia to soften the bms.  We're going to start a new medication today-Amitiza-on advice of her gastroenterologist-we'll see how it goes.  On the bright side of things, at least she'll go when she has on a pullup.  That's so much better than not going at all.

toilet training

Personally?  I would let her know she's mad!  I would then tell her she can feel free to waste her days doing that - but I had no desire to.  And good luck finding a daycare who would do it! However, some people do try to toilet train at this age - and some are successful.  If you want to deal with a schedule like that, go for it.  But, when a baby can't even get themselves to the bathroom, this kind of potty training can be very difficult for a care provider.  It's a much better way to potty train when there is a stay-at-home parent - but it's a quite demanding task to put on someone else.  Perhaps the two of you can work on some kind of compromise?
