Dry mouth and altered taste

Greetings~ I am new to this website, and yours is my first post...just wanted to throw in that my husband has recently been diagnosed and has begun his first medication treatments. His first and constantly states that he has a horrible metallic taste in his mouth, and nothing tastes like it used to.  We know it has to do with the meds, he brushes his teeth several times a day and has lost all appetite.  Are you too on meds for the anxiety?

Hi Crazycow I think most of us anxiety sufferers have thought at one point or another they are having a stroke or a brain tumor. Neck/head pain are usually just tension. I am 37 yrs old and at 19 I thought I was having one or the other & I am still here!!!  If you had it checked out I would not worry. Anxiety really plays games with your mind and the symptoms although real in feeling are nothing more than a a heighten state of senses. I sometimes get very sensitive to light when anxious or bright lights/lighting in the mall or a big store...and i just tell myself its only my anxiety and it seems to get better. Have you been diagnoses with anxiety by a Dr or are you just presuming this is what you have? Best of luck to you & try not to focus on the symptoms.

anxiety and vision please respond

You might want to see your eye Dr for some testing. Yes, anxiety can cause many strange symptoms but it's always best in my opinion to rule everything else out first.

need a doctor and can't find one that will listen

I'm so sorry for what you're going thru.  I've had back surgery & numerous leg surgeries, but my son's fully grown, so it was only me i needed to take care of while having them.  My first question would be have you seen a specialist?  If you haven't, you need to do so.  If you have, you need a second or third opinion.  Remember, doctors are human.  Some docs don't listen, unfortunately.  Other than that, i honestly don't have anything further to suggest.  It may be that you need to go see a specialist outside of where you live.  Sometimes docs look at your history, ask who you've seen & leave it at that.  That doesn't mean they're right, but i've gone thru that.  I had a doc sever the main tendon in my leg, then didn't figure it out that he'd done so.  I saw 2 ortho docs in the same area after that.  All said i just wasn't willing to live with my disability.  I went to an ortho doc in another county.  5 minutes into the appt he figured out what was wrong.  And ultimately fixed it.  So, consider doing the above, if you can.  Hang in there honey.  Sounds like you're going thru a lot & i'm sorry for that.

What should I expect?

All you have to do is go to your Dr. and tell him what you are experiencing.  No, you don't have to go through months of testing.  He will ask you alot of questions and just honestly answer them, don't be shy.  Ask your Dr. about the possibility of Bi-polarism, also.  Because if he thinks you have social anxiety disorder he may prescribe an antidepressant which would in turn aggravate Bi-polarism.  I don't know alot about ADD, though.  But if you're going through cycles where you're bouncing off the walls and then getting really down, then you're probably bi-polar.  Drs. handle this type of thing all the time.  It's nothing new and he won't think you're crazy

Strange Smell inside my nose

Dear Michael, First at all in my very particular opinion I think you're taking like too much meds... that cocktail of antidepressants is destabilizing your Main Nervous System... Odd smell inside the nose cavities only means "infection" or "sinusitis" and it is possible that the cause is completely independent from your anxiety problems... maybe a blood test in search of any bacteria will be the choice or a "oropharyngeal swab". Check your how you mucous look like, if it's green not transparent this means infection. Blessings. Metacomet
