Medical induced anxiety

Hi, I never experienced any anxiety my entire life, to be honest don't know what it is.  But since I've developed diabetes, my thyroid removed, I experience a severe nervous condtion.  Don't know if it's anxiety or something else.  Feels like my body is being electrocuted or I drank 50 cups of coffee, an overdose of caffeine, but I don't drink caffeine.  I'll tense up really bad, all my muscles will get severly tight, occassionally my chest will hurt, from muscle tightness, other then that no pain, just super tight/stiff all over

Suggested Questions And Answer :

Lexapro VS Prozac

I've heard many people complain about feeling tired on Lexapro. Many others do great on it though. We're all so different, you're so right about that. I've also heard people say that Prozac was more stimulating. We really don't know how we'll react to these meds until we try them. If the Lexapro is working well for your depression have you thought about adding an anxiety med for your anxiety? Or, are you concerned that you will be even more tired by doing this?

caffeine induced anxiety episode

I had an attack about 2 minutes after sipping strong coffee.  It was bizarre.  I drink one cup a day normally and feel ok although I know I should probably stop as if makes my heart flutter.   Anyway, after drinking the coffee my heart starting racing almost instantly and I feel weak, short of breath and just weird the rest of the day.  I said it lasted about 48 hours before I felt ok again.  However, I am not on any meds right now so I guess my situation may be different.

What is the best medication for anxiety-induced elevated high blood pressure for a young man?

Anxiety doesn't necessarily cause high blood pressure.  I've suffered from anxiety for years, but never high blood pressure.  So don't assume the anxiety is causing this.  If you want to try something natural, Herb Pharm makes a compound called Linden Mistletoe compound that is very good at lowering blood pressure.  That along with dietary changes and exercise might do the trick without adding still another med to the cabinet you're forming.

Medical induced anxiety

It's possible you thyroid medication is at the wrong levels.  It's possible they didn't address all your thyroid hormones; most times they just go after one or two.  Could be related to your illness.  If you don't feel your docs are giving you enough attention maybe see different specialists for another opinion, as blood sugar problems and thyroid problems are a big cause of physiological anxiety.

celexa and alcohol

Hi......it tells you right on the bottle to not mix this medication with alcohol....it's a very dangerous mix and can be deadly.  You don't need the alcohol and it probably started as a way to self-medicate until you started the medication.  Alcohol takes you on a slippery slope and never ends well, you can have fun without it. Please think about this...you've got a lot of living to do!!
