online adds are scarry sometimes

Is YOUR heart beat irregular? We all experience palpitations or PVC's from time to time and they feel like our hearts have "skipped" a beat or we got two beats for the price of one. If you ARE experiencing frequent heart beat irregularities, I suggest you see a cardiologist to rule out any underlying medical issue. Do you suffer from anxiety? Those of us who have anxiety or panic will often focus on every little twinge or pain we feel. It's referred to as "health and/or heart anxiety. The best way to overcome it is to be checked out by a specialist. If your heart is fine, then you may want to consider therapy for anxiety. I'm just surprised that more people aren't rushing off to the ER after listening to all the horrid things medications they are taking can cause. Read the patient information on whatever OTC pain reliever you take for a common headache! It's a real eye opener! I wish you the best

Daughter is having speech issues at 2y4m?

I'm not sure how much being immersed in multiple languages delays things, but I do know for certain that it does.  That being said, how wonderful that she will have 4 languages.  I would check in with an expert - perhaps a pediatrician or speech therapist?  Others will speak up I'm sure with more information, sorry all I can offer is that I know it is normal for a child to be behind in these types of situations.  All the best to you!

Do I have ADD??!

Here's the criteria for ADHD:  http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/adhd/diagnosis.html.  The criteria is centered on behaviors related to attentiveness.  It doesn't sound as if the behavior you describe meets that criteria.  What you describe sounds more like an obsessive / compulsive disorder.  However, the only way to truly find out what might be going on is to be evaluated by your doctor.

Bipolar and ADD Symptoms

Namaste, You certainly have a lot of questions. Youre medications could possibly be part of the problem, however, neither list lack of concentration as a side effect.   I'm Bipolar I and do oftern suffer from lack of concentration, so that may be part of the issue, but I also take an anti-anxiety medication which can cause memory loss and lack of concentration, but those side effects went away after awhile. You didn't mention how bad your concentration is, but at times I can read a sentence 4-5 times and still not comprehend what I read. It's a frustrating feeling, although I get by very well on other days. Some schools can provide assistance to disabled students, such as tutoring. You'd have to ask the individual school what they might be able to offer. They usually have a seperate department or at least seperate people to deal with their disabled students. Regardless of what you choose to do, I wish you luck. Michael

Tired from ADHD-medcine?

If it it only happens sometimes, then its possible that it is not the stim med., but your lifestyle (not getting enough sleep for example).   The effects of the medication should be consistent - not change one day to the next (unless, you are also on another medication that might interact with it).    Essentially, the effects should last a max of 4 hours.  Any longer would indicate an overdose.   For example, if the tiredness only happens after the 2nd pill - then this would be a real possibility.   You need to document when you get tired as that will help your doc.   Its possible that you need to take your second dose later in the day or reduce it.    Either way, you should let your doc know what is going on.  By the way, your doc should have started you on the lowest dose, not the 10mgs.

AADD

You might want to get your thyroid checked out.  While ADHD really doesn't start in adult hood - thyroid problems can.  So ya, I would go and get a medical checkup including blood tests.    But I should add that ADD can easily go undetected during childhood if one has pretty good intelligence.  You really haven't given enough of your symptoms for me to comment much.  A pretty good web site to check out for adulthood ADD is totallyadd.com    Hope this helps.

Could I have ADD

Add and ADHD are two different disorders be aware of that because if you get treatment it is 2  ways of treating one from the other ADD is more lethargic, bare with the description, if some one with ADD smokes pot it gets them moving when for most folks it slows them down. A lathargic person given a depressant it picks them up. ADHD if they were to use say cocain it will make them slow lathargic  tired when all the others would be hyper racing around. i hope these simple descriptions give you an idea of the differance for get what was use it just an analagy
