Is buspar good? any reply is helpful! (anti anx med help)

Pregabalin is known as Lyrica in the States and is prescribed primarily to relieve neuropathic pain if you have diabetes or in the area of your rash if you have had shingles. It is also used to treat fibromyalgia. Pregabalin is used with other medications to treat certain types of seizures in people with epilepsy. Pregabalin is in a class of medications called anticonvulsants. It works by decreasing the number of pain signals that are sent out by damaged nerves in the body. I found nothing that indicated this medication is ever prescribed for anxiety. But, you stopped that and began Prozac, an SSRI antideprssant and I could not find mention of "cinerazine" anywhere, so it must go by a totally different name here. You are looking for something to help with dizziness, anxiety and agoraphobia and I believe I'm getting in way over my head here and honestly think you need to discuss all these meds and symptoms with your doctor. If you've had dizziness for over two years, I think the smarter move would be to figure out why rather than mask it. As for the BuSpar, it's an antianxiety med prescribed mainly for mild generalized anxiety disorder. I've heard both good and bad about it, but as with any medication, it affects us all differently. The only way to find out if it's "good" is to try it. Please see your doctor to discuss the chronic dizziness and sort out your meds. Sorry I wasn't much help. Pece Greenlydia

Do you mean Klonopin(clonazapam) ? If so I have been on it for 3 years along with Paxil. I was also on ativan but I got off it and am just going to take the Klonopin and Paxil long term. My doctors have told me that they dont like to use benzos for long term use as you can develop a tolerance and have to keep up'ing the dose but in some cases it is the best option for people. I have had no issues with tolerance at all.

Health anxiety help!!!

I know exactly how you feel, you are not alone! I suffer from health anxiety and ocd. I obsessive about any little thing that's wrong with me, but mostly I have fears of certain diseases. I'm a college athlete, and this anxiety has taken over my life to the point where I can't focus on my sport anymore. I just want to get back to my normal life and focus on what really matters. I agree though, that I cannot decipher anxiety from reality. All in all, we need to get this together and not let this anxiety rule our life anymore. If you think about it, today could be our last day and you would not want to spend it worrying about something that is so insignificant. One thing that helps me is I try to push out my negative thoughts and forgot what I'm worried about, almost like it never happened. Focus on your sport, and realize that you have such a beautiful life and so much to live for. Most of the time, the things we worry about do not end up happening. Start taking control of your anxiety, and do not let it rule you! It's already stolen enough from you, don't let it take another minute away from you.

Medication for extreme anxiety?

The best advice I can give you is to get your mom to a doctor, if not a psychiatrist.  Then her health issues can be evaluated fully, and taken into consideration before any med change is made.  Never take or give medication that is not for you or that person, and never for a problem not seen by a doctor for.  Doing so can cause alot more harm than good.  Blessings - Blu

My anxiety is back. Any help out there?

Are you wearing a Nicotine patch? I too was beginning to quit smoking "only smoked like 2-3 cigs a day" and was wearing a patch, and that was around the time I started to feel Extreme anxiety. Yes nicotine can cause anxiety, what nicotine does is lets more Dopamine in your brain, a natural chemical that is in your brain to help you "feel good" when you stop feeding your brain that, it "punishes you" so you want to smoke again. I read a study, that people who smoke have a better chance of gaining a unwanted anxiety disorder, my case its GAD. And let us not forget all those other little chemicals that they put in cigs that can ultimately effect us. I ended up quit quitting for now because the severity of my Anxiety.
