How long does soreness last from being choked?

I was choked by my partner Saturday night. I didn't lose consciousness and didn't feel pain right after. A couple of hours after, my neck was sore and then the next day it hurt when I swallowed. It still hurts when I swallow, like I have a really bad sore throat. Does anyone know how long this will last?

I wish I had a good answer, but I am about 20 days behind you. But...there was a great thread on here a couple days ago with some long timers talking about how they are doing at months or even years out. It was great to read. Gave really realistic expectations. I'm pretty sure the thread was titled Honestly. Hope that helps a little! Great job on the clean time! Keep up the good work!

How long does withdrawals last from hydo morphine

Hydromorphone is Dilaudid. which is a lot more powerful than the "Hydros" you mostly hear people referring to when they talk about Hydrocodone. If she went through 1 week of Methadone to get over the worst of the withdrawals she would have went through from the Dilaudid, she wasn't on Methadone long enough to get addicted and is only going through the tail end of Hydromorphone withdrawals symptoms. I've gone Cold Turkey from Hydrophophone. Tell her she's missed the worst of it and not to give up hope.  She should start feeling better within the next few days.

Is nerve pain a side effect of zoloft?

All meds come with possible side effects. I've never heard of Zoloft causing this one but you never know. Give your Dr or pharmacist a call to ask if this might be a possible side effect. Since you do have carpel tunnel syndrome that could be what's going on. Best to give your Dr about this though.

Any ideas on how long the anxiety an sore muscles last?

Congrats on 12 days! Anxiety is probably the longest to last! I am working on day 27 and still fighting it some what. Not as bad as before and I have learned to take 10 deep breaths it really does help. Rubber muscles are another thing I still deal with at times, just push myself to get moving. You are doing awesome and the best is yet to come!

Sore Pectoral Muscles

Hey I have been having the exact same things happening. I've had some panic attacks recently and I have anxiety...it runs in the family. Aside from the major panic attacks, my biggest problem that I've been having recently is the sore pectorals, like you described. It seems for me that along with the soreness also comes a feeling of lack of energy. Please let me know if you find out anything on how to make these problems go away, or why they're happening!--and I'll let you know if I found out, too. I'm surprised that someone else is actually having this issue, I thought I would be the only one.

Need help with Cymbalta side effects

Hi CJ, I am sorry to hear about your withdrawal side effects. In 2008 I took Cymbalta for a bit over 3 weeks. I did not experience any side effects but felt it had done what it was prescribed to do. I just quit taking it - and luckily did not experience any withdrawal symptoms (sx). I'm not certain what you are experiencing is a result of discontinuing the drug. I've did some searching and can't locate your symptoms as a withdrawal side effect. It does name some of your sx as a side effect while taking Cymbalta - basically they are allergic types of reactions.   I found this on the web: "Cymbalta users experienced severe withdrawal symptoms after discontinuing use, including mood swings, neurological problems and brain zaps. Patients describe these zaps as excruciating headaches that occur alongside bouts of nausea and dizziness. Some are so severe that patients cannot go to work." And .... "The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has a name for these symptoms: Cymbalta discontinuation syndrome." I'd consult with your PCP to determine if these sx may be attributed to Cymbalta or if something else may be going on. I just wouldn't want you to assume it's the drug's fault and have a medical issue that requires treatment. Hopefully other members will have input also. Best of luck - and please let us know what you discover. I'll be interested to learn what you do. Take Care, ~Tuck

Vicodin Withdrawal

Hi licha and welcome! I'm sorry you're struggling so much.  Withdrawal is NO picnic! And I wish I could tell you how long it will last, but that's actually very different for everyone.  Just hang in there and know that it IS temporary and it will pass.  And then you will NEVER have to go through this again.  That thought alone kept me going in those early days.  And don't stop posting - this place can get quiet from time to time but eventually members will be here and respond to you.  And I do think that since you were on the norco's for such a short time, you'll get out of this mess relatively quickly.  Have you checked out some of the suggestions given on this site such as the thomas recipe or the amino acid protocol?  There's some great info there so it's definitely worth looking into! And oh yes, congratulations on the 8 days!!  That is FANTASTIC!!!  :)
