You have the choice to overcome your past abuse!

I'm 31 and have been where you are. Abused any way you can imagine by a drug addicted father. I hated life and wanted to die in my early teens through adult years. That's when I tried drugs and loved how it gave me an escape. I didn't have to feel the emotional pain from all the years of abuse I had trapped inside! I blamed my dad for the way my life turned out and my addiction. I was heavy in my addiction for about 15 years. I had two children during that time my 9 year old daughter and 6 year old son. I swore that I would never put my kids through what I went through! So I never

What does my husband go through

Look bi polar is hard enough without being in an abusive situation.   If it were me I would leave this man and if he wanted me back he would have to undergo some extreme therapy and anger management before I would reconsider ever being with him again. there are many resources for abused spouses if you feel you are fainacially unable to leave him. are you in therapy? If not It would be the best thing for you  to help you deal with your past and help you to prepare for your future there is no escuse for him to be abusive to you  and belittle you in front of your children. I dont think the stress of livivng with a bi polar has caused him to be this way.I suspect he has been like this all along and the now thaqt you have a diagnosis it is just something he can use as an excuse to abuse you. I am jkeeping you in my prayers that you will be able to get out of this . keep in touch. Love Venora

Later stage Methadone withdrawal

Hello! I'm very new to this forum but I thought I could share my situation. I have been on everything off and on for 4 years now, this time. The last time was a while ago and withdrawals were absolutely horrible for me ! I went through low energy for 3 months after quitting hydros. They weren't the worst ever but I didn't have any energy and I had cold sweats all the time. I'm moly on day one this time and I kick myself everyday for even starting these back up. It's 5:30 in the morning here and I haven't been to sleep at all tonight because of the restless legs and arms. It does get better I know it does and it takes different times for everyone. I know a lot of its on my head though... I did find pills and drinks that help. I went to a smoke shop and bought kratom and vicozen. Vicozen is a drink and it's really gross, I hold my nose, but it works wonders. I actually feel like I could go to sleep but I'm thinking I'm just gonna call it a night ! I hope those help!

my 27 year old son quit heroin for 3 months

Ahhhhh.  I'm sorry you have to deal with this- it is SO not fair and you should NOT put up with it.  From my experience, his behaviour is conducive to that of an addict who is clean but not doing any recovery work.  He is still engaged in his addiction, even though he is not using.  In AA they call this a dry drunk.  My best advice to you is to get involved in NarAnon or Alanon and get some support and advice on how to deal with your son's unacceptable behaviour.  Also try posting on the Living with an Addict forum.  There are lot's of wonderful folks out there who can give you advice and support. Your son is emotionally blackmailing you right now and it is NOT fair nor is it acceptable. He's gotta take responsibility for his life, and his recovery.   You cannot prevent him from using.  You can only tell him to get his sh*t together and get into a program.  You cannot be terrorized by him any longer, Sending you support... Tips for overcoming opiate addiction

Great that you made your own thread. That is the easiest way to get help and get noticed, smart .  I am going to stop right at the beginning of the second paragraph where you said the longest time you had clean was a week and a half. That is not enough time for you to get your brain chemistry back to a more normally functioning level. Try a month and it will make a world of difference. These pain problems may very well clear up when you get that month in .   Great job on the two days and glad you see this as a problem so early in life . You can do this and it is best that you do it now before you reap some of the consequences that we all have. Keep it up and keep posting friend  best wishes to you ;) hope this helps

Xanax+Alcohol Abuser

Hi...Here is the best advice I can give you, personally:  See a doctor immediately!!  I'm serious here. This is something I would not attempt on my own. Both alcohol and Xanax share the same receptors in the brain so you're saturated.  You'll need to detox under medical supervision. This could be possible at home but not if you're alone. This will be a problem if you withdraw abruptly. Seizures being the first concern for both substances...Please call a doctor for assistance with this and stay in touch here. All the best!!
