Scared to seek for help

I love my family more than life itself and when I was 12, my dad sexually harassed me. I had counseling and social services were once involved but I had lied saying I was over exaggerating what had happened for the sake of my family not falling apart. Four years later, my dad and mom are still together. I wouldn't say they're happy, though. My dad is, but my mom and the rest of us think my dad is just ignorant. It seems all he cares about is my little four year old sister and the rest of us are just here. I don't normally talk to my dad unless he needs something such as doing the d

Help ?

I advise you to go to your primary care doctor right away before it gets worse.  I realize you say you have a hard time traveling, but the sooner you get the help the sooner you can get better, and for me personally going and finding a good doctor was my first and best step.  Go see your doctor, discuss all of this with them and you guys can decide where your next step will be.  Getting your anxiety under control is a journey for sure, but you can get better.  Please go see your doctor before things get worse.  Maybe schedule a phone apt if you TRULY cannot leave your house. or e-mail them.   Hope I was some help to you.

where to seek help?

Hi.....sorry that you are having problems.  Chiari can cause so many symptoms, but related conditions can cause them also.  The symptom severity depends on if you should wait to see PCP (family doctor) or go to ER.  Chiari is diagnosed with MRI of brain, however it is usually found accidently.  Not very common to have MRI to rule out Chiari since many doctors are not familiar with CM-I.  What type of symptoms are you having?? Selma will respond to you at some point on this forum.  She is very knowledgeable of CM-I & gives great advice.  I would suggest to keep a detailed log of all of your symptoms & write any questions that you have for your MD visit once made.  Any doctor can diagnose CM-I via MRI of brain, however you will need Chiari specialist to treat it accurately.  Keep researching also so that you have as much knowledge as possible.  Good luck with your search & sending prayers for symptom relief.

Scared but ready 2 change

I just want to throw some support your way I am only on day 2 off of a 3 year oxycodone habit. You can expect about 5 days of flu like symptoms with days 2-3 being the worst. Some symptoms I have had are anxiety, restless legs, gut pains, lack of energy, hot/cold flashes. It's never as bad as you work it up to be in your head, don't get me wrong it's not fun or anything but it is manageable. Check out the Thomas Recipe on the bottom right of the page to help you with your symptoms and drink plenty of fluids. I wish you tons of success, you can do it!

Could it be BPD?

Hi there.  Oh dear, you do sure seem to be suffering in silence don't you.  Now, while I'm not a Dr or even a ''professional health care worker'', what I am is a long term (over 30 years) sufferer of diagnosed Borderline Personality Disorder.  I have to say that quite a number of your ''symptoms'' certainly do sound like BPD, but so do a number of other thing and we mustn't jump to conclusions.  However I really do urge you to seek out the advice of your Dr or health care professional ASAP.  This is because although they personally may not be able to help you, they certainly will know in which direction to steer you.  Also the only way to be helped and advised/treated is to be diagnosed, one won't happen without the other and the quicker you seek help, the quicker you will be helped.  I am in London so can only speak as the system works within the UK, that begins with a visit to your GP (Dr).  Good luck in finding the help you require.  HUGS.  Do come back and tell us how you got on.   XX

Please, somebody help me!

Hello and welcome to the forum, I would not assume that you were bipolar.  I am shocked at how many young people I see come on here and even know what bipolar is.  The typical onset of bipolar is from 15-30, but that is not always the case.  I have seen some extreme cutter in my life that are not bipolar.  I am going to send you a message so we can talk about this.

Help! Is this crazy?

This is a very common feeling with anxiety. It puts you in a state of high alarm and on top of that it also makes you feel something really bad is going to happen. Not sleeping or eating is not good for you and can make the anxiety become worse. If I were you I would go to the doctor to let them know what is going on and see what they suggest you do, Also going to see a psychologists might be helpful that way you can try to figure out what is going on in your life to make you feel this way. Good luck to you.
