Husband says he'll leave?

Hi, recently I got married and on our honeymoon he informed me that if I go to the bathroom  (pee or poop) or pass gas in our new house he will leave me as that is not acceptable to him. He says 7 Eleven in down the street.  Im so shocked because he never brought this up before we were married...we didn't live together. I honestly don't know what to do as we don't believe in divorce or annulment and he says it's normal for this situation to occur and he said just nobody talks about it.

I think my husband is addicted to pills

based on my own experience as a pain pill addict, if he's wiping his nose alot and its runny, he may really be trying to come off. That is a huge sign of withdrawl. It's very uncomfortable and will indeed make one moody. The scary part is that sometimes, depending on severity of habit, the withdrawls can become so bad that one will go to abnormal lengths to get the drug that will make it just stop. Be there for him and maybe he can ween himself off instead of suffering, or get help from a doctor if he's up for that. Good luck! :-)

Husband says he'll leave?

Does your husband go to 711 each time he needs to use the facilities?  Because that would only be fair if he's asking you to do it. You should feel comfortable in your own home and be able to use the facilities. Did you use the facilities at his place when you dated?  If so, what's different now?  Can you use one bathroom and he use the other(if you have 2) if it's such an issue? What he's asking is not at all normal or fair.  It seems like he's trying to test you to see how much control he can have over you. You may want to set boundaries with him so that he doesn't push you into doing things that don't feel right to you.

second thoughts

Dane, I am probably not the best role model, but I hope you make the right decision for you.  It sounded like  your family is/was on board with the plan and you have time to get ready for it.  Don't back down out of fear.  Fear of the unknown is definitely anxiety ridden and hard to handle when you are in pain and miserable.  Please write down the pros and cons to help you see what is really important.

Hard Decisions

Maybe you could rent a room in a sober house. The rent usually isn't very high. And you would have roommates in recovery, you could go to meetings with. It's a good way to make sober friends. It's also just a transition stage, no signing a long lease. So, maybe if you complete 3-6 months there, your husband might consider taking you back. Good luck.

Husband wants to leave me

Hello and welcome. Sorry I couldn't respond earlier. I am sorry for what you have been through. I know the heartache. Hun your husband is not taking responsibility for his addiction. Addicts lie, deceive, manipulate, try to cast blame on others for why they do what they do. Until  he takes blame for his part in this,is honest with himself and you he will not be on the road called recovery. There is no way his cravings for alcohol went away in one day. That is a lie. It isn't mentally or physically possible. The counselors usually don't recommend any life changing moves within the first year of recovery. He is just mad and needs to lay blame somewhere. How long is he supposed to stay in rehab? I would recommend you going to al-anon.we also need recovery, healing and restoration. We get just as sick as they are physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Do you have someone you can confide in? Family, friends, a pastor? How old are your children? There is always hope. Keep the faith, Sending prayers, Debbie
