Suggested Questions And Answer :

Pain in my neck on left side when swallowing and singing.

Hi there! With a normal ENT evaluation and an MRI scan I would not suspect this time be anything serious. The symptoms could have occured due to inflammation, possible secondary to trauma and is expected to get better in a few weeks. I would suggest resting the throat for a few days. You could also try some lozenges for symptomatic relief. Hope this is helpful. Take care!

Post ACDF C5-7, donor bone, titanium plate

I am so sorry that I cannot help you but I have a question.  You said you have burning.  I have described a pain in my back just below my shoulder blades as burning like I had heartburn except in the back and he and they have looked at me like I lost my mind.  Is your pain like that?

Healing or choking?

I had ACDF (C5-C7) in Nov 2006.  I began feeling the same way about two months ago.  My doctor said that if it had come loose I wouldn't be able to swallow at all.  He sent me for an xray and everything was fine, but he did say that  scare tissue sometimes will form around the plates and I could make you feel that way.

symptons anxiety

It sounds, or seems, like you are having symtpoms right now! I find it a bit difficult to read/understand your post, so I'll do my best. You can have generalized, and consistent symtoms of anxiety, called generalized anxiety disorder GAD, without having just panic attacks, or panic disorder. Your symtpoms sound a bit more on the severe or distressing side of anxiety disorders. My questions and suggestions would be, if this is the first time you are experiencing this, yes it could be anxiety, but go to the doctor urgently to be sure it's not serious. Seconndly if you've had this for a long time do you have a therapist or psychiatrist to prescribe medications or get to the root of the problem? If not, I would see your doctor right away to get involved with a psychiatrist and therapist to help you out and make sure you have a good support system as well.

Pain in scar in front of neck after vertebrae fusion

With an anterior fusion, the screws, plates, and rods used to stabilize the spine can interfere with the esophagus and trachea as there's not a lot of room in the neck. This is nothing to minimize -- a 4 level cervical fusion is a hugely invasive surgical procedure. This is a problem you should have looked at immediately.

Tightness in neck

hi doc. what is this diseases?

Hi there! Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. While shoulder pain could be related to spinal issues, other possibilities include inflammations, degenerations, capsulitis, bursitis, tendonitis, injuries/ tears, arthritis, spinal/ neuro-muscular causes, muscle/ ligament/ tendon tears/ injuries, fractures, growths/ masses, ischemia, micronutrient deficiencies etc. Headaches could also be caused secondary to spinal causes or could be unrelated; while the feeling or throat contraction could occur due to involuntary muscle spasm secondary to a number of issues such as infections, neuro-muscular causes etc. I would suggest getting the symptoms evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
