Duac/benzoyl peroxide confusion

Hi, I'm a 21 year old male. Ive been using Duac Once Daily (Benzoyl Peroxide 5%, Clindamycin 1%) for years however these are the things I'm unsure about: 1. Does it need to be stored in the fridge even after opening it? I always thought the pharmacy has to store it in a fridge and then after it's opened it can just be stored in any temperature below 25 degrees C so can be in a cupboard. 2. Should it be washed off in the morning? I usually put it on and leave it on all night and day, wash it off at night before bed and apply it again. 3. If I get spots on my nose does any Duac nee

What is wrong with me? Do I need to up my dosage of Zoloft?

If you are still reading, God bless you. To the point here..  I have SERIOUS social anxiety that is absolutely debilitating at times. I absolutely go out of my way to AVOID interaction with people (strangers AND people I know).  It has an ENORMOUS effect on my life and the lives of my family! All negatively!  I don't even want to talk about it, it's so stupid.  I HATE being this way. I just want to be normal. I don't want to feel so panicked and scared when I have to interact with someone. It is EXHAUSTING!  When my doorbell rings, INSTANTLY I feel all the blood just leave my arms and shoulders, blood rushes to my face, my heart beats like I am running, I feel like I am not getting enough air like I am running out of breath, I get really, really, REALLY nervous. I feel AFRAID! And it is the stupidest thing! It is SO irrational, it makes NO sense.  I am not afraid the person, what I am afraid of is literally that I am afraid to interact. I am afraid I will not say the right thing, I won't know what to say, I will sound stupid, I will look stupid, I will sound rude, I will sound too nice, I will sound nervous! I am afraid they will know I am feeling afraid!  And the thing is, I can most of the time pull it off and not look like I am being so uncomfortable. I do not think most people even have a clue I am so nervous! Just the people who know me well know that I have the social anxiety issues, and they are supportive of me and really don't think too much of it (though most of them do not know quite how bad it actually is for me!).

Benzoyl peroxide & pregnancy

Although you will suffer breakouts at the start of pregnancy, because acne is hormonal your skin will get better as your pregnancy progresses and will probably be glowing in a few weeks. Companies will not say their products are safe for use in pregnancy in case they get sued. Small amounts of topical products are absorbed into the body and it is not known if these affect the baby. My son was born with birth defects-not due to acne treatments-but i would advise you not to take any risks during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Good luck love loiloi x

Confusion and disorganized thinking?

I do know when a person is manic their thought process becomes disorganized. It happenned to me before recovery but more because of the negative symptoms of schizophrenia which many of the atypical antipsychotics (Risperdal onwards) helped on. It would be worthwhile to speak to your psychiatrist about. I know Lamictal helped me with rapid cycling and mixed states but every person reacts differently to every medication.

Using Erythromycin with Benzoyl Peroxide

Hi. Check the expiry date on the tube of Erythromycin cream and do not use it if it has been opened months ago. Using BP and Erythromycin concurrently may increase side effects such as burning, peeling and redness. It all depends how sensitive your skin is. When using 2 topical products use one in the morning and one before bed, don't apply them together. Use a bland soap-free cleanser to reduce irritation, I recommend Physiological cleansing gel by La Roche-Posay. There are 2 products which may be of interest to you: Duac gel contains both Benzoyl Peroxide and an antibiotic called Clindamycin. Epiduo gel contains both Adapalene and Benzoyl peroxide. These once-a-day gels are formulated with the right amount of each active ingredient and should cause less irritation than applying two separate products. Eloise.
