Suggested Questions And Answer :

Glowing red heart and veins that causes severe itchyness in upper body

Hi! This looks like urticaria or hives. The swellings or wheals produced after itching can be pale (of skin color) or red. Urticaria is usually triggered by allergens, such as drugs, foods, insect bites, inhaled substances, in response to sunlight, cold, heat, stress, exercise, or a viral infection. Other common allergens are pollen, mold, dust, pet dander, or cosmetics. Since you experienced an itch, just go over these possibilities in your mind. Something may strike you. In many cases, hives clear up themselves and don’t require diagnosis or treatment. However if they persists you may need to see a specialist called an allergist to determine what is causing the reaction. Fungal infections also come up whenever there is moisture or temperature difference and Tinea versicolor can cause whole body itch. Over the counter antihistamines help. Calamine lotions and other over the counter preparations with camphor/menthol do help to reduce the itch. Try a soft cotton ball dipped in cool water applied over the itchy areas instead. Calamine lotions and other over the counter preparations with camphor/menthol can be applied after the cool water application. Take care!

blackheads,acne,scars ...worried :/

Blackheads result when a pore is only partially blocked. The black color is not caused by dirt. Rather, it is the skin's melanin reacting with the oxygen in the air. A blackhead can often take a longer time to clear than other types of acne. With the other type of acne you're experiencing, are they nodules that are under the skin, or whiteheads, or pustules?  Whiteheads and pustules are mild forms of acne, quicker to rid, but can leave some scarring if not treated with care. Nodules or cystic acne are severe types of acne and require agressive forms of prescription meds. If you have the mild type of acne, then I'd suggest treating the skin externally and from within.  Skin-friendly supplements, such as Vitamins A, Bs, C, D, and E, iron, fish oil, and zinc can help.  Make sure not to exceed the recommended doses, as it can be toxic.  Plenty of water throughout the day will also help your body rid toxins and keep your pores supple and clean.   Although your skin is oily, constantly washing away or using harsh treatments to dry out the natural sebum (skin's oil) will lead to an imbalance of the skin's pH, thus leading to acne or other skin conditions.  Use a gentle facial cleanser and facial toner each morning and night, along with a moisturizer for sensitive skin. If you must extract a pimple, do so after cleansing the skin and taking a steam shower.  If clear liquid or blood is extracted, stop, as this will lead to a scar.   If you use facial make-up, make sure the packaging specifically says non-acneic, non-comdegenic, or won't clog pores.  Wash any make-up applicators at least once a week.  And wash your pillow covers or any other item that may come in contact with your face at least once a week.  All of these things can harbor bacteria that leads to acne.  Good luck!! I hope you find clearer skin within the next few weeks of using this new regimen.

skin glow

Hi. Vitamins A, C and E and zinc may benefit the complexion. However, when you eat your body delivers nutrients to your other organs such as heart and brain, before your skin. Therefore, a good diet does not always result in glowing skin. Exfoliating to remove dead skin is very helpful. I recommend using a good cleanser and exfoliator like the Perfectly Clean range from Estee Lauder. Clarins make a cleanser and exfoliator in one with orange extract. For more serious lack of radiance, scarring or sun damage, a chemical peel will help. Eloise.

Red/Pink itchy dry skin on face.

Hi. There are several excellent products I will recommend for acne-prone skin which is also red and tight. Eucerin make an excellent cleanser for impure skin which is compatible with acne medications. Roche-Posay also make an excellent cleanser and moisturiser for oily skin which is also sensitive. These products are available in stores and online and are not too expensive. Loiloi xx

Retinoids suck for me...

Hi. Topical retinoids like Differin can feel greasy when applied to the skin so are best applied before bed. Oral retinoids (isotretinoin/accutane/roaccutane) shrink the oil glands in your skin and often cause very dry skin and peeling. What type and brand of retinoid did you use? Estee Lauder make the best cleanser for oily skin i have found. You can use it regularly without any irritation. They also make a matifying toner and oil-control hydrator. These products are in green bottles and available in department stores or online. Have you tried oral antibiotics? Oxytetracycline or Lymecycline are probably more effective than erythromycin. There are also non-retinoid topical lotions, Duac gel might be good for you it is a combination of clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide. Advances in laser treatments have been good recently and can be used to remove the bacteria from skin, and shrink oil glands. Ask for a consultation at a reputable clinic. Loiloi xx
