Scheuermann's Disease without Kyphosis Causing Excruciating Pain in 17 yr. Old Female

I'm a 17 year old girl with incredible pain in my thoracic spine. It is by far the worst when I sit, and I experience no pain when I'm moving (even If I bend over).  I'm extremely active and I play volleyball around 3 hours every day and I plan to play in college.  My hamstrings are not tight, most doctors are amazed at my flexibility, and have suggested I'm hyperflexible.   I have tried a medrol dose pack, muscle relexers, a tens unit, a back brace, 7 months of physical therapy three times a week which included electrical stimulation, ultrasound

Scheuermann's Disease without Kyphosis Causing Excruciating Pain in 17 yr. Old Female

I also play volleyball and have been having back pain since the start of my volleyball season four months ago.  It also came out of nowhere, but my pain is there whatever I do.  The only way it is relieved is if I lay completely flat, no pillow.  I do have slight scoliosis.  I have not been to a doctor yet because It has been managable until lately where It has gotten alot worse.  In class I can't sit still anymore, I have to switch positions every five minutes, It is really annoying!  anyways, I hope you find relief!

38 YR old female lower back/upper buttocks pain...help

Hi there! Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include postural causes, neuro-muscular issues such as muscle sprain, nerve impingement, injuries to muscles/ ligaments, inflammations etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician or an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Meanwhile I would suggest rest for a few days. Ice packs/ warm-compresses and tylenol/ NSAIDS may be helpful for pain relief. Hope this is helpful. Take care!

Neck Pain, and Carpel Tunnel

double crush means that a nerve is being compressed in more than one place, and that the symptoms are additive. Your case sounds complicated due toyour hereditary condition. IF I were you, to avoid the run around you are obviously getting, and to avoid wasting months if not years just getting a diagnosis, I'd go to the MAyo clinic in Minnesota (the original one) or the cleveland clinic (in cleveland). all office visits and all testing is done under one roof, and things are expediated greatly. what may take 2 or 3 years on the outside may take only a few days in one of these clinics. good luck

Nipple Discharge and Pain in breast

Since you had a mammogram I suppose you have seen a Dr. about your concerns. If not I would suggest that you make an appointment with a Breast Specialist if this is worrying you. Breast discharge is not necessarily an abnormal occurance and the discharge can be almost any color or consisitancy. Breast pain is rarely a symptom of breast cancer. If this is a problem with the milk ducts then this can be treated but you will first need to see a Dr. for a definite diagnosis. Regards ...

Mondors Disease????? help

The only advice I can give you is "See A Dr."  The fact that you have no insurance does not prevent you from seeing a Physician .... there are clinics in most areas where un and underinsured women can be seen regarding any breast issue. We cannot diagnose here over the internet and you shouldn't try to do this by searching either. There is way too much information out there that cannot be understood by the ordinary person and most of it does NOT apply to any one specific situation. PLEASE see a Dr. ASAP .....   Regards ....

Thoracic Back Pain/Lupus

I can't answer why your therapist would ask that question off the bat, but I would certainly ask her if I were you.  Have you seen a rheumatologist about your back?  These autoimmune conditions often occur in pairs or groups so you MAY have something else all together going on in there.  Maybe, but it should be investigated and a rheumy is just the person to do so.
