That procedure gave me some relief with the lower back pain in general. MRI shows a big mess in the lower back. My pain is off the lower left side of my back, upper buttocks, and then travels down the middle to the bottom of the buttocks. Then my entire hip and thigh hurts and sometimes the pain travels down the backside of my thigh and calf. I have had some shooting pain though my foot. There is

Neck, low back and hip pain

Hi, if it was bone cancer, it would have been picked up by CT and MRI studies, so please don't worry. Considering the different locations of pain described, the pain could be due to compression of a nerve, the sciatic nerve. The resulting symptoms are often referred as sciatica. The pain can vary in severity and can be accompanied by numbness. This occurs due to spinal disc herniation (slipped disc), spinal stenosis (narrowing of spinal canal) or due to the piriformis syndrome. It can also be due to osteoarthritis or osteoporosis. With physiotherapy, avoid those movements or exercises that aggravate your pain. Try not to lift weights or bend as this can worsen your symptoms. Try applying local analgesic creams. Place ice over the painful area every 1-2 hrs for pain relief. Sleep on a firm surface with a pillow under the knees and take OTC pain medications like Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen. Ensure to take them after food. Regards.

trouble getting dressed due to low back pain and stiffness

Hi there! Well, it would be very difficult to comment on the situation without a detailed clinical evaluation. Possibilities that may need to be considered include capsulitis, bursitis, tendonitis, injuries/ tears, joint subluxation/ dislocation, arthritis, periostitis, muscle/ ligament/ tendon tears/ injuries, nerve impingement/ compression, growths/ masses, ischemia etc. A few of these may be related to the injury while others could have developed later. I would suggest consulting an orthopedician for a detailed evaluation. If a specific cause is diagnosed, it can be managed accordingly. If everything happens to be normal, physiotherapy may be a good idea to loosen up the muscles and help with movement. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
