lump on bud cheeck

Hi there! Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include cysts, warts, lipomas, neurofibromas etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought. Hope this helps. Take care!

lump in 9-year-old's breast (NOT the bud)

I think this bump may just be normal, if painful and scarely , breast development. She may even have a cyst due to hormonal fluctuation and this may cause lumpiness and other changes in the breast. They usually come and go, and yes, at this stage the growing pains can be intense. I do though think it is a good idea to take her to the doctor, and he/she can explain better what this is and reassure you and your daughter? Please let us know what the doctor says? Your daughter most definitely doesn't have cancer at this age.  Katrin

lump behind the ear

Hi, How is your mother? What other symptoms are present? Were there initial diagnostic tests done? I understand your concern regarding this. Enlarged lymph nodes may be attributed to a variety of issues such as infection, autoimmune diseases as well as possible malignancy. To determine the underlying cause, additional diagnostic tests may need to be done such as following tests may be done blood tests, including liver function tests, kidney function tests, and CBC with differential; lymph node biopsy; chest x-ray; or  liver-spleen scan. If it persists, it is best that you have this checked by a doctor for proper evaluation. Direct clinical examination and diagnostic tests may need to be done. Take care and do keep us posted.

please answer!!

Hi, Please don't worry about the lump being cancerous because at your age it would really be extremely rare. The changes you are going through are very common because at your age your hormones are changing and all this makes breast lumps much more likely during puberty. If this lump persists after your period is over or seems to be getting bigger quickly, don’t ignore it.Talk to you mom to schedule an appointment to see your Pediatrician for an examination to see if this lump could be a Fibroadenoma or a cyst that could develop in teenagers as well as older women. These lumps are completely harmless. Take care sweetie…

How Fast Does Breast Cancer Grow?

I am not an expert, but was wondering the same thing as I have has some mysterious things going on since having a baby 2 yrs ago. I actually have some lumps that are about as large as strawberries in my breast area! If your actual surgeon said that, he probably was accurate, but like me, I requested an Ultrasound (didn't even go to my surgeon) to my new OBGYN . I was terrified about going to a surgeon, but didn't realize this is normal protocol, so now I am actually going in for the US. I have a lump near my armpit too(like a pencil eraser), but my doctors don't seem to think it is anything-had this sucker for 7 to 8 yrs at least. I am asking that this be checked tomorrow. We are young, but it never hurts to be proactive. Best wishes to you. Don't stress out, but possibly go back to your surgeon, GP and request an ultrasound.

odd lump

I wouldn't care to speculate as to the cause of the lump you describe. As you seem to know this requires an examination by your Dr and he/she need not be a Surgeon. Often free mammograms are offered by Health Departments in most areas and you might call around regarding this option. This could be a cyst or Fibroadenoma or something more serious and you need to seek help of some sort in your local area. There are also free, or reduced fee clinics in most areas. I would suggest you call your local Health Dept. and inquire about what options are available to you.    Regards ....

atypical cells

I have no answer for you if you have had this lump for several months and have not seen a Dr. Seeing a Dr. about something like this is NEVER out of the question and I suggest that you make an appointment very soon. You do not need to make arrangements for a Diagnostic Mammogram and Breast Surgeon ... you just need to go to your regular Dr. for an examination. Please do not put this off any longer.  Regards ....
