Suggested Questions And Answer :

Is this pain the result of the liver tumor biopsy and is this common?

Well two days have passed between you post and my reading it - I hope all is better by now. In retrospect I would think it best to call the doctor's office  who did took the biopsy and ask your questions. If pain in normal there are some strong prescription pain "killers" that are very effective.

back pain left side near shoulder blade

Hi! Pain under the left shoulder blade is usually a referred pain from abdomen like stomach ulcers, acidity, pancreatitis, or from the chest like in heart attack, pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, and aortic dissection. So, just like heart causes have been ruled out, other causes will need to be ruled out. Fatty liver and other related liver and gall bladder problems usually cause referred pain to right shoulder and right shoulder blade. Please discuss this with your treating doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.

Not sure where to post this

Hi, At first I thought it maybe your gallblader. Sometimes stones can lodge in the bile ducts, but since that is gone we don't have to worry about that. It still could be medications that are causing the high enzymes. Nexium is one that will drive those numbers up. Many other meds can too...too many to list! The numbers you posted would not be for your enzymes. 40 would be high for them. I can't imagine liver enzymes that high! You are in good hands, I would wait to see what your doctor comes up with. More than likely it can be reversed. If you will keep us posted, I'm curious as to what it is. I have had liver problems in the past, mine was from Tylenol. Thanks

confused

Your symptoms of MCTD and atypical MS point to chronic infections that are found in a majority of such cases.  The most typical infections are Chlamydia pn., Mycoplasma species, Borrelia b. and various viruses—sometimes a combination of these infections. You should be checked for these using sensitive testing procedures such as PCR.  Unfortunately, these testing procedures are not full-proof, and many cases are missed.  Testing is best performed when symptoms are at maximum severity.

right side pain is it fatty liver?

Hi! I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. High GGT levels are seen in liver diseases such as hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver tumors, and jaundice. Other causes of high GGT include heavy or chronic alcohol use, myocardial infarction, pancreatic cancer or pancreatitis and viral infections such as Reye's Syndrome, Epstein-Barr, or cytomegalovirus (CMV). An elevation in AP is often seen in cholestatic liver disease, pregnancy, bone disease, and occasionally with inflammatory bowel disease.  In your case it could be a liver problem other than fatty liver or pancreatitis. Please consult your doctor regarding this.
