Suggested Questions And Answer :

finger surgery on may 25th 2012

Hi there! Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include nerve impingement at the neck or shoulder level, postural issues, inflammation/ degeneration, muscular causes such as muscle sprain, referred pain from other regions etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought. Hope this is helpful. Take care!

fusion c5-c6 loose screws

I also had a c5-c6 fusion using hip bone and 2 plates and 4 screws. Within 6 weeks one of my screws had started backing out, so I had surgery again! They put in some "surgical wire" (to me it looks like fishing line), but did nothing about the screw. I am still in severe pain 10 years later and was told that I had DDD, but if it was before or after. Now I cannot find a doctor to fix it. They all say that its "fine" ! Trying to explain the pain and loss of ROM is something noone understands unless they have been there. I still have very little strength in my Righ arm. I just wish someone would be willing to fix the problem so that I could live pain free, or at least have less pain. Good luck to you, I hope you end up better than me!

Spinal Tumor

Hi.  Its possible that the arm pain your wife is presently experiencing does not come from the joints themselves.  The pain may be neuropathic in origin, meaning that it's coming from her spinal cord which may be swollen as a result of the radiation therapy.  If this is the case, a short course of steroid treatment, as well as drugs for neuropathic pain like gabapentin (Neurontin) or pregabalin (Lyrica) may help relieve her symptoms.

I have come to a conclussion about my head....

Wishing u all the best and I hope u continue to post here..... If I had been DX'd at that age I most likely would not have had surgery, IF I knew I did not have an obstruction....and I would have it monitored. It does seem as we age this does seem to get worse for  many, and there r some it is much worse when they r young....so , it is defferent for all of us. Only u can decide what is best for u, and I pray u continue to monitor this and keep us posted on how u r doing., BTW- I had a very positive surgical experience and would not hesitate to use my NS again if that is what I felt was needed. Good luck <3

Breast Cancer Survival

Evidently you had no lymph node involvement since you didn't receive either Chemo or Radiation. Once diagnosed with Breast Cancer there is always the chance that it may return and there is no definite way to tell when or if this might occur. Even with a recurrance you can live many years depending on what organs were involved, what treatment would be instituted and the response to that treatment. Wishing you continued good reports .....

Anyone who's been there that can help?

Hi Mom,  I really don't know what could be wrong.  It's been a little over a  year since I took my last pain pill, and I've never had withdrawal symptoms like that since I quit.  It may be time to see a doctor for a check up. Maybe you should get some blood drawn to check your levels.  Why would your doctor think you are looking for a fix?  Maybe try a different doctor?   Take care, and I hope you feel better.
