Dull and sharp pains at back-left side of skull?

For the past few days, I've had intermittent dull to sharp pains in the back-left side of my skull, near the base of the skull where it meets the neck. Today I also feel pain on the top front of my head on the left side. In between pain attacks, I feel my head with a bit more "pressure" as in a normal headache. My left ear popped once as well. Before this happened, I spent a few days "headbanging" more than usual, but the continued pain scares me.

Sharp pain at the back of shoulder blade

I have the same thing. Mine seems to be brought on by driving, if I have my upper body in the forward position and while raising my arms. The pain starts in the center of my upper back and intensifies to a nerve pain. It lasts about a minute then subsides. The pain is made worse if k arch my back outwards but Improves if I push my shoulders back and take a long deep breath. I went to an urgent care facility on Nov 10th. They said muscle strain and prescribed Motrin and muscle relaxers. I can't take the relaxed cause they make me extremely tired. It's now Dec 22 and I'm still having pain. No insurance is my problem. I don't know how long j can take it. Chest x Ray was normal.

anyone know what could be wrong?

Welcome to the Back and Neck Community.  Members are here to provide assistance and support to individuals experiencing symptoms related to possible abnormal conditions of the cervical and/or lumbar spine.  Advice given is non-professional and is primarily based on personal experiences. Low back pain can be due to many different causes and is difficult to assess without corresponding objective findings.  When you went to the ER did they do any baseline x-rays or other diagnostic tests?  Telling you they "don't know" is not very helpful, but is probably accurate if they did not investigate your symptoms more carefully. The fact that you are having leg pain and the low back pain is constant would indicate that there might be some abnormal disc problems in your lumbar spine.  This can only be confirmed through appropriate diagnostic testing which can rule out any other causes and support your subjective findings. My suggestion would be to contact your primary physician and ask him to order the x-rays --- it will be a starting point, but hopefully lead to the appropriate treatment. Post back with your progress and any additional questions/concerns you may have. Best wishes ----
