Popping sounds in upper back and lower backache

Hi, I am 26 yr old female, light smoker and had a 11cm cyst removed from left ovary 2 years ago. For the past several months, I noticed my upper back has a popping or crackling sounds whenever I straighten my posture after a long period of sitting down in office chair or when I wake up in the morning. I have a fairly large chest for my body frame and maybe thats the cause of my backache. I will try to have a good posture whenever possible but my back aches quite often and cracking my back somewhat gives a temporary relief from the nagging pain. I have popping sounds on the base of my neck too

Suggested Questions And Answer :

Popping sounds in upper back and lower backache

Hi there! Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include postural issues, inflammation, neuro-muscular causes such as muscle sprain, nerve impingement, injuries, micronutrient deficiencies, referred pain from other regions etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought. Meanwhile you could take some tylenol and see if it seems to help. Hope this is helpful. Take care!

Back Bones "Popping"

My hips and back "pop", or "crack" all the time! I asked my doctor about this and it wasn' cause or concern in my case. Your case may differ. Go see your doctor and find out if t is a problem for you. I thought popping joints caused arthritis, but have been told this isn't true.

Lower back pain and pelvic bone pain

This is an old post and you probably have already gone to the doctor, at least I certainly hope you have. But you can ALWAYS ask your doctor for any kind of test/treatment. It is YOUR body, nobody knows how YOU feel better than you. A doctor may say that you don't need an xray or whatever, but more times than not, he/she will give you what you request - A good doctor is willing to work with you in your healthcare and not tell you to do everything their way.  : )

17 year old girl dealing with major back problems!!!

I am sorry to hear of your continued health problems.  Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine that can produce the symptoms and problems you have identified in your post.  Depending on the severity of the curvature, pain can be quite prominent due to the associated displacement of your shoulders and hip as opposed to normal alignment of the spine. Treatment will vary depending on your age, the severity of the curvature and symptoms. You are doing exactly right in obtaining your medical records for review by your new treating physicians.  Hopefully they will begin appropriate treatment to lessen your discomfort. Post with an update and I wish you all the best ---

Clunk noise from base of skull

OK LISTEN TO ME: I have had C5, C6, C7 fused with cage. L3 ( L4, L5 removed with peek cage) S1 with rods & screws. Ok the Clunks, grinding noises in your neck I also still have them. You need an MRI. Please please go see a NEUROSURGEON. They also specialize in nerves & bones get a 2nd opinion. Let your orthopedic dr order the MRI's get the results then make an appt with a NEUROSURGEON!!!. I got 2 orthorpedic opinion but after my surgerys I was still in pain I went to one & found out things that I wish I had went to one first. Please do not -do not do any more gym or CHIROPRACTOR. Yes I used them to for a few years but the last time when he went to adjust my neck I grabed his hand for some reason & would not let him do it, I guess it was God that made me made him stop.  No you need the MRI ASAP if he want do it go to another DR. Get you an special pillow for Cervical pillow walmart does sell them about 20.00. I will try & remember to get on here & check my message's but here is my email stone_p***@**** if you need to talk good luck :)
