Lump under left arm

Hi from the history of follicle manipulation (the shaving), this is most likely a localized infection of the glands around the hari follicles.  this is really a common occurrence and this would usually resolve.  However, there might be a residual lump due to fibrosis of the previously infected tissues.  It is best to have this evaluated by your doctor since if there is still residual infection, this might have to be treated with antibiotics.

Painful Breast Lump...w/no answers

Hi, This is probably a cyst which is a fluid filled sac.Simple cyst do enlarge due to the increasing hormonal (estrogen) fluctuation prior to your menstrual cycle and subside when your periods is over.Usually no treatment is required, but if it's causing pain or enlarges too much,it can be aspirated or removed. If there's a lump there and is palpable, it really doesn't matter what the ultrasound shows. If the lump can be felt and is indeed a cyst, aspirating the fluid will make it collapse and no further treatment will be necessary. If the lump is a solid one,the needle can sample it so that the cells extracted can be examined by a pathologist .You may discuss with your Doctor about these different options and see what he/she recommends. If you have no insurance, you could contact these places. 1) The American Breast Cancer Assistance Program that provides financial assistance to uninsured and under insured women and men of all ages for breast cancer testing. Call their toll-free enrollment hotline, 877-Key-2-Life (877-539-2543). 2)Susan G. Komen for the Cure provides information on free or low-cost mammograms/Ultrasound and other sources of financial assistance. Call toll-free, 800-IM-AWARE Finally, try calling your local hospital. Ask to speak to a social worker. He or she will be the one who’ll know about the availability of free or low-cost cancer screening in your community. I hope that you will soon find a solution to your problem. All the best.

breast pain , breast lump, and armpit lump

Hi, There seems to be no cause of alarm here. I suggest you relax and stay calm. Fibroadenomas are the most common cause of breast mass in your age group .They are caused by fibrous and glandular changes in the breast and are affected by hormonal changes in the body. This may explain that most of them enlarge and become painful in the menstrual cycle or  may recede and  disappear in due time. Fibroadenomas are usually solitary but they may also be multiple. They may also enlarge and cause pain. Taking OTC analgesics may relieve the pain caused by the fibroadenomas. However, push through with your physician consult for further evaluation. I feel that you are highly anxious and the lump causes pain and discomfort.A biopsy may be done for a definite diagnosis of the lump and also to allay your fears. Is there a strong history of cancer in your family? Continue doing self breast examinations and note any changes in your breasts and surrounding areas like the armpits. Keep us posted regarding your progress. Remember to keep a record of all your scans for future reference.

Fat necrosis (pain and lump returning after antibiotics)

Breast fat necrosis is usually treated with warm compresses applied to the area several times a day along with some "over the counter" pain reliever until the symptoms go away. I'm not sure why the antibiotics unless it was evident that some type of infection was present. This condition does NOT increase your risk of developing breast cancer in the future.  Regards ..

appearance of lump under the left nipple

I am not sure about the reasons why the lump is there - many things can cause problems. He should get to the doctor and have them look at it.  They can do tests to tell if it a cyst (clear) or a lump (solid).  Lumps can be many things and cancer is one of them.  If it is a lump they can do more tests to look at what it is.  If it's on the top of the tissue and skin - you can just have it removed in the office.  Then you will not have to worry about it. Remind him that Breast cancer can also happen to men. If you want a doctor reply post in the doctor forum. Good luck.

Painful Lump under under male breast

The lump in your breast evidently was diagnosed as a cyst which can be quite painful. If you are subject to Fibrocystic condition then there may indeed be more of these lumps that will occur from time to time. Link between PCOS and painful breast lump

Hi, PCOS, or polycystic ovarian syndrome, is actually the most common reproductive problem of a hormonal nature, among women who are still of childbearing age. Despite the name, a woman with PCOS may not actually have cysts but she will typically have problems with her menstrual cycle, either irregular cycles or no cycle at all. A woman with ovarian cysts may have any combination of the most common symptoms, which include tenderness of the breasts among other things. ref:http://www.askahealer.com/polycystic-ovaries.htm More than half of all women experience fibrocystic changes — lumpy, thickened tender areas in the breasts — as they get older.Fibrocystic areas of your breasts blend into the surrounding tissue and may move slightly when pressed. You may feel dull pain and a sensation of fullness in the upper, outer part of your breasts. Fibrocystic changes are associated with fluctuations in hormone levels both during your menstrual cycle and as you approach menopause. You may notice increasing lumpiness and tenderness in your breasts as the levels of your reproductive hormones fluctuate during these times. ref:http://www.cnn.com/HEALTH/library/BR/00013.html
